Aiming to Ignite Interest in Science

The Council of Humanities, Sciences, Technologies, and Innovation of Baja California Sur (COSHCYTI) is gearing up for the National Science Dissemination Fair titled “Ciencia que Transforma” (Science that Transforms). This event aims to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and the younger generations, fostering interest in science, technology, and innovation. Sara Cecilia Díaz Castro, the general director of COSHCYTI, emphasized the importance of this initiative.

“We want science to reach classrooms in a close manner, and for young people to have the opportunity to learn about the work of those dedicated to research,” she stated.

Scheduled for September 30, 2026, the fair will feature 30-minute talks followed by 10 minutes of interaction. This format is designed to encourage students to ask questions, exchange ideas, and gain insights into the work of specialists across various fields of knowledge.

Engaging Students and Researchers

Díaz Castro extended an invitation to researchers in the region to participate in this significant event, sharing their experiences and knowledge with secondary and high school students. She highlighted that this exchange could inspire future vocations and demonstrate the relevance of research in everyday life.

“This interaction can contribute to awakening vocations and showing the utility of research in daily life,” she added.

The fair will also include a Demonstrative Expo at Plaza Paseo La Paz from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, targeting primary, secondary, and high school students. This expo will provide hands-on experiences related to science, technology, and innovation, making it an exciting opportunity for young minds.

Registration and Participation Details

Educational institutions and interested individuals can find registration links on the COSHCYTI Facebook page or contact the office directly at 612-12-8-85-70, available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This initiative not only aims to educate but also to create a community of young scientists and innovators who can contribute to the future of their fields.

The COSHCYTI’s commitment to promoting scientific knowledge among youth is a vital step towards building a more informed and innovative society. As the event approaches, anticipation grows for the potential impact it will have on students and researchers alike, paving the way for a brighter future in science and technology in Baja California Sur.
