The international boxing spotlight is turning toward Baja California Sur. The XV Los Cabos City Council has confirmed its full support for the highly anticipated World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver World Championship, a top-tier event that will thrill fans this coming Saturday, May 16, 2026, starting at 8:00 PM, on the floor of the “Leonardo Gastélum Villalobos” Municipal Auditorium in Cabo San Lucas.

Following a meeting between the coordinator of the General Secretariat in Cabo San Lucas, Víctor Castro Martínez, and the event organizers, the importance of attracting these international-caliber cards to the peninsula was highlighted. This championship will not only offer an adrenaline-filled sports spectacle for local attendees but will also represent an invaluable promotional platform for the destination, as it will be broadcast nationally through the Azteca América and Hi Sports networks.

Local authorities celebrated the fact that these types of strategic alliances work as a dual-impact engine. On one hand, they consolidate Los Cabos as an emerging capital for sports tourism, and on the other, they serve as a direct source of inspiration to motivate young South Californian talents to follow the path of discipline, proving that with support and dedication, championship dreams can come true in their own homeland.
