With the aim of transforming the urban environment and preventing infection hotspots, the Cabo San Lucas Delegation led an intense cleaning and junk removal day in the El Arenal neighborhood. This May 2026, personnel from various departments of the XV Los Cabos City Council, in coordination with the Sub-delegates Office, deployed mainly along Ejido Street to remove tons of waste, weeds, and discarded objects that had accumulated in public areas.

These actions not only improve the visual image of the neighborhood but are also vital for public health by eliminating potential breeding grounds for disease-carrying mosquitoes. Local authorities emphasized that these brigades are a direct response to citizen requests, reinforcing the commitment to maintain dignified and safe common spaces for families. During the day, close collaboration was observed between municipal workers and neighbors, who took the opportunity to get rid of old furniture, tires, and containers that were no longer useful.

Finally, the municipal government called on the residents of El Arenal and surrounding neighborhoods not to let their guard down. Keeping a city clean is a shared task; it is of no use to remove the "junk" today if we generate piles again tomorrow. In 2026, the goal is clear: a culture of prevention and environmental care that starts at our own doorstep, ensuring that the development of Cabo San Lucas is not overshadowed by the accumulation of trash.
