The young marine mammal was transferred to La Paz for specialized veterinary care after suffering neck injuries.
A juvenile sea lion was successfully rescued at El Médano beach in Cabo San Lucas after being spotted with severe neck injuries.
The joint operation involved the Fund for the Protection of Marine Resources (Fonmar), Profepa inspectors, Zofemat personnel, and the Cabo San Lucas Fire Department.

Following the secure capture, personnel from the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa) transported the mammal to La Paz, where veterinary specialists are monitoring its clinical status.
Martín Inzunza Tamayo, General Director of Fonmar in BCS, emphasized that protecting marine species remains a top priority. Once fully recovered, the sea lion will be reintroduced into its natural habitat.
Local authorities remind the public to report stranded or injured wildlife promptly and avoid handling animals directly to ensure the safety of both citizens and wildlife.
