Baja California Sur Expands Wellness Tourism Offerings

A New Era of Wellness Tourism
Baja California Sur is taking significant steps to diversify its tourism sector by focusing on wellness experiences that leverage the region's natural, cultural, and gastronomic wealth. Maribel Collins, the head of the Ministry of Tourism and Economy (SETUE), announced this initiative during the unveiling of the Todos Santos Wellness Fest 2026 and the Loreto Live Well Experience 2027.
"We are committed to positioning Baja California Sur in a growing tourism market and generating opportunities for hotels, restaurants, transporters, tour operators, producers, and other service providers,"
Collins stated.
The strategy, dubbed “Wellness in Baja California Sur,” is being spearheaded by the State Tourism Trust (FITUES). It aims to integrate visitors, specialists, entrepreneurs, facilitators, and local communities through proposals related to health, nature, movement, culture, and healthy lifestyles. This initiative is expected to attract a diverse audience interested in wellness tourism, which is rapidly gaining popularity worldwide.
Upcoming Events to Watch
The third edition of the Todos Santos Wellness Fest is scheduled for November 6-8, 2026, at Santa Terra Living. This event will feature a variety of activities including yoga, meditation, mindfulness, conscious movement, music, health, and healthy lifestyle workshops.
"We are excited to bring together wellness enthusiasts and experts for a transformative experience in Todos Santos,"
said Fernando del Olmo, the general director of Sabino Producciones.
Meanwhile, the Loreto Live Well Experience will take place from January 15-17, 2027, at the Hotel Oasis in Loreto. This event will expand wellness tourism experiences to another of Baja California Sur's Magical Towns, further enhancing the region's appeal as a wellness destination.
Special Offers for Locals
To encourage local participation, both events will offer a 50% discount to residents using the code VISITBCS. This initiative not only promotes wellness but also supports local businesses by attracting residents to engage with these new offerings.
