Commitment to Education

The government of Baja California has made a significant commitment to ensure that every young person who participated in the high school admission process will have a place to continue their education. This assurance comes after the results of the admission process were released on July 31, where approximately 52,000 aspirants received a folio and key to participate. The governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, emphasized that not being assigned to one of the three chosen schools does not equate to being left without options.

"Just because a student was not placed in one of their three selected schools does not mean they are without high school. There are available spaces, and we will support each young person to continue studying because in Baja California, no one will be left behind."

More than 90% of the applicants were successfully assigned to one of their top three choices, but for the remaining students, the government has outlined a clear process to secure alternative placements.

Reassignment Process

Students who did not receive a placement in their preferred schools must now navigate the reassignment process. The Baja California Secretary of Education has set up a system where these students can schedule appointments to explore available options. This process is crucial for ensuring that all students have the opportunity to enroll in high school before the upcoming academic year begins on August 31.

"Students who have already been assigned to a school must complete their registration by August 7, submitting the necessary documentation and receiving their class schedules."

To initiate the reassignment, students need to visit the Ingreso a Preparatoria 2026 portal, where they can log in with their folio and key to book an appointment at the designated attention modules. These modules are located in various cities, including Mexicali, Tijuana, Tecate, Playas de Rosarito, Ensenada, and San Quintín, with San Felipe offering guidance via telephone.

Urging Participation

Irma Martínez Manríquez, the Secretary of Education, has urged parents and guardians to remain engaged in the process, especially if their children were not accepted into their first-choice schools. She reassured families that there are alternatives available to guarantee their children's admission to high school.

"We encourage families whose children have already been assigned to a school to formalize their registration on time, as unoccupied spots may be reassigned to other applicants."

The educational authorities are committed to accompanying each student until they find a suitable placement, highlighting the importance of not abandoning the process. The government aims to ensure that every student has the opportunity to continue their academic journey, reinforcing the belief that education is a right that should be accessible to all.

As the clock ticks down to the start of the new school year, the government of Baja California is taking proactive measures to ensure that no student is left behind in their pursuit of education.
