In light of the forecast predicting possible rainfall in Baja California Sur due to Hurricane Simon, the State Civil Protection Council has implemented a continuous monitoring system to track the hurricane's evolution. The council emphasizes the importance of staying updated on the storm's progress and adhering to safety protocols.

According to the National Meteorological Service's report issued at 11:00 AM local time, Hurricane Simon remains a Category 1 storm on the Saffir-Simpson scale. The hurricane is currently located 180 kilometers west of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, and 350 kilometers south-southwest of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, with maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour and gusts reaching up to 185 kilometers per hour.

"We urge the population to remain informed through official channels and to follow the recommendations of authorities at all levels of government,"

stated a representative from the State Civil Protection Council.

Potential Impacts on Baja California Sur

The circulation of Hurricane Simon is expected to generate heavy showers and strong winds across the western region of Mexico, which includes Baja California Sur. As the storm progresses, the likelihood of localized rainfall in the southern part of the state is anticipated to increase, raising concerns about potential flooding and other related impacts.

The Civil Protection Council has advised residents to take necessary precautions against possible rain accumulation, flooding, and other adverse effects. The council's proactive measures aim to ensure the safety and preparedness of the community as the storm approaches.

"We are closely monitoring the situation and will activate emergency response protocols if necessary to ensure timely assistance to the public,"

the representative added.

Community Preparedness and Safety Measures

As the hurricane approaches, local authorities are emphasizing the importance of community preparedness. Residents are encouraged to secure their properties, stock up on essential supplies, and stay informed about the latest weather updates. The Civil Protection Council is committed to providing timely information and guidance to help mitigate risks associated with the storm.

In addition to monitoring the hurricane's trajectory, the council is coordinating with various government agencies to ensure a comprehensive response plan is in place. This collaborative effort aims to address any potential emergencies that may arise as a result of the storm's impact.

"Our priority is the safety of our citizens. We are prepared to respond swiftly to any situation that may develop due to Hurricane Simon,"

the representative concluded.
