Registration Details
The Autonomous University of Baja California Sur (UABCS) announced on Thursday, August 13, 2026, the opening of its registration period for the Cultural Workshops for the 2026-II semester at the La Paz Campus. The registration process will be available from Monday, August 17, to Wednesday, August 19, and is open to both university students and the general community in the region. The educational activities will officially begin on Monday, August 24, in both in-person and virtual formats.
The institutional offer includes a total of 20 workshops structured across four fundamental disciplines: Performing Arts (Urban Dance, Folkloric Dance, Oriental Dance, and Theater), Visual Arts (Object Art, Drawing and Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Digital Photography, Printmaking, and Drawing), Musical Arts (Singing, Popular Guitar, Music Theory: Violin, and Music Theory: Piano), and Multidisciplinary disciplines (Chess, Creative Reading and Writing, Hiking, Yoga TM, and Yoga TV). In-person sessions will take place at the University Center for the Arts, located behind the University Cultural Poliforum, while distance courses will utilize the Moodle educational platform.
Participation Fees and Process
To complete the registration process, applicants must access the UABCS SIIA information system. The recovery fee is set at 180 pesos for university students and 270 pesos for external users. This initiative aims to decentralize culture towards the population of La Paz, Los Cabos, Comondú, Loreto, and Mulegé. Regarding the start of the registration and group capacity, Emmanuel Loria Ojeda, head of the Cultural Dissemination Department, emphasized the specifics of the process:
"Spaces are limited for each of the disciplines offered during this academic period."
Community Engagement and Outreach
The UABCS has confirmed that its university extensions across Baja California Sur will have their own registration calendars within the same dates. Regional sites in the state’s municipalities will directly inform about their academic offerings so that peninsula residents can participate in the training programs provided by the Executive Power and state educational entities.
Individuals interested in seeking in-person assistance or resolving registration queries at the La Paz Campus can visit the modules in buildings AD-30 and AD-52 during the hours of 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Additionally, the following phone lines are available: 612 123 8800, extensions 1580 and 1502, as well as the email address [email protected].
Cultural news from UABCS, its academic calls, and activities for youth in Baja California Sur will continue to be disseminated through CPS Noticias and the digital channels of Tribuna de México.
