A Platform for Educational Innovation

The Director General of Basic Education at the Secretariat of Public Education, José María Hernández Manríquez, announced that ten teachers from Baja California Sur will represent the state at the Regional Forum “The New Mexican School in Three Years,” scheduled for September 22 in Hermosillo, Sonora. This forum aims to highlight innovative educational proposals that address specific needs within various school communities.

Hernández Manríquez explained that the selected proposals were chosen by a committee composed of personnel from teacher training institutions and basic education. These initiatives are designed to tackle challenges faced by both urban and rural schools across different educational levels, including early childhood, preschool, primary, and secondary education, as well as special and physical education modalities.

“The proposals presented are a reflection of the dedication and creativity of our educators, who are committed to improving the educational landscape in Baja California Sur,” said Hernández Manríquez.

The Selection Process and Its Importance

The selected educators previously presented their work at the State Forum of the New Mexican School, held at the Convention Center in La Paz. During this event, participants shared their proposals and exchanged ideas on the challenges and advancements necessary to consolidate this educational model in classrooms across the region.

This selection process underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in education, where teachers are not just recipients of policies but active contributors to the development of educational strategies. The forum serves as a vital platform for these educators to showcase their innovative ideas and learn from their peers.

“We believe that education should be a collaborative effort, and this forum allows us to share best practices and learn from one another,” he added.

The ten educators chosen to represent Baja California Sur include a diverse group of professionals from various educational backgrounds. They are:

  • Maritza Guadalupe López, specializing in Early Childhood Education;

  • Delia Berenice Álvarez Agúndez, focusing on Special Education;

“Each of these educators brings unique insights and experiences that will enrich the discussions at the forum,” noted Hernández Manríquez.

This representation not only highlights the commitment of Baja California Sur to educational excellence but also showcases the innovative spirit of its educators. As they prepare to share their insights and proposals at the forum, their contributions are expected to influence educational practices beyond the state, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration in the Mexican educational system.
