The Unique Charm of Cerritos

Baja California Sur is one of those enigmatic places where waves are present year-round, thanks to its privileged geographical position. This is why the Surf Open Cerritos 2026 will have everything necessary to celebrate its third edition as part of the Surf Open League. Located just minutes from La Paz and Todos Santos, Cerritos has become a hidden gem in Baja, now ranking as the third most visited tourist destination by air, following Mexico City and Cancun.

The event will feature one of the most challenging surfing competitions in the country, attracting surfers from around the globe.

"I am always happy to return here to Cerritos. The truth is that I am very excited to go to Baja. This is one of the few events we have in North America. I aim to climb the ranking, and this is a big international event that has the opportunity to shine at home for that,"

said Jhonny Corzo, world champion in 2017 and one of the leading advocates of surfing.

Event Details and Expectations

Scheduled from November 19 to 22, the Surf Open Cerritos 2026 will take place in La Baja, a favorite destination for surfers and the nomadic spirit they embody. The event promises to be a blend of high-stakes competition and a vibrant celebration of surf culture.

The anticipation surrounding the event is palpable, as it not only showcases the skill of the surfers but also highlights the stunning natural beauty of Cerritos. The picturesque beaches and breathtaking sunsets create an atmosphere that is both competitive and relaxing, making it an ideal setting for surf enthusiasts.

"I love it and I get really excited; it’s a destination that I enjoy surfing a lot. It has a beautiful view, the beach and the rocks create an incredible sight, the waves are very good, and it’s very close to Todos Santos, which is a beautiful Magic Town with a cuisine that I love,"

commented Ana Laura González, a Mexican surfer.

Beyond the Competition: A Lifestyle

The Surf Open Cerritos 2026 is more than just a sporting event; it embodies a lifestyle that resonates with the local culture and the surfing community. Beyond the competition, the Pacific ambiance with its imposing sunsets invites participants to unwind on the beach and recharge their energies. The ecological awareness and the music surrounding the event further enhance the experience, making surfing a lifestyle in itself.

"The people, the atmosphere, the food... you can go explore bays, jet ski, and engage in many activities that keep you very active. They should try surfing, catch some waves, and then visit the Arch, which is an iconic place, or go biking; there’s a bit of everything,"

Corzo concluded.

The Surf Open Cerritos 2026 is set to be a landmark event in Baja California Sur, showcasing not only the talent of surfers but also the rich culture and lifestyle that surrounds this beloved sport.
