Successful Summer Safety Operations

Overview of the Operations

The summer vacation season of 2026 in La Paz has concluded with a remarkable record of safety, thanks to the comprehensive security measures implemented by the local government. The “Safe Summer” operations, which ran from July 17 to August 31, focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of both residents and tourists visiting the area's beaches. With a total of 188,453 vehicles recorded during this period, the operations effectively managed the increased mobility typical of the summer months.

Key Achievements

Throughout the summer, authorities maintained a constant presence across 36 beaches, including 21 in La Paz and 15 in its delegations. Daily patrols and surveillance activities were conducted by 24 personnel and six official units, resulting in zero fatalities and no pre-hospital care incidents reported on the beaches. The operations included 92 patrols and 30 surveillance rounds, demonstrating a commitment to public safety.

"We are pleased to report that our efforts have resulted in a safe environment for everyone enjoying our beautiful beaches,"

stated a local official.

In addition to the beach operations, a significant focus was placed on road safety. A total of 51 official units and 108 personnel were deployed to monitor traffic and ensure safe travel for beachgoers. This included the implementation of a carousel operation from Playa El Tecolote to the coastal boardwalk, where 2,048 vehicles were counted to help manage speeds and promote orderly transport.

Incident Reports and Coordination

Despite the successful outcomes, there were two reported traffic accidents resulting in five injuries and two thefts on the beaches. However, the absence of fatalities highlighted the effectiveness of the coordinated efforts among various agencies. The collaboration involved the Municipal Police, Navy, National Defense Secretariat, National Guard, State Police, Ministerial Police, Civil Protection, Fire Department, Green Angels, volunteer groups, and multiple municipal government departments.

"The coordination among all involved agencies has been crucial in maintaining safety conditions for our residents and visitors in La Paz,"

emphasized a spokesperson from the local government.

Looking ahead, the General Directorate of Road Safety and Transport, along with the General Directorate of Public Safety and Preventive Police, has committed to strengthening operational coordination and preventive strategies. This ongoing effort aims to enhance the safety and security of families in La Paz and those who visit the municipality.

"We will continue to work diligently to ensure that La Paz remains a safe destination for everyone,"

concluded the official.

The successful conclusion of the “Safe Summer” operations not only reflects the dedication of local authorities but also sets a precedent for future safety initiatives in the region. The proactive measures taken during this busy season underscore the importance of community safety and the collaborative spirit among various agencies in La Paz.
