Description

Enhancing Community Engagement

Recently, the La Paz City Council, led by acting Mayor Amor Fenech Montaño, and the head of the Municipal Water Supply, Sewerage, and Sanitation Operator (OOMSAPAS), Abimael Ibarra Abúndez, visited the Arboledas neighborhood as part of the “Water House by House” program. This initiative aims to listen to residents regarding the services they receive and to strengthen user attention.

During the visit, residents expressed their satisfaction with the improvements in water supply. They also acknowledged the excellent service they receive at the Sector 5 office, located within the neighborhood, where they can directly seek assistance and follow up on their reports.

“The supply has improved, and we appreciate the good treatment we receive at the office,” a resident shared during the visit.

Direct Communication and Support

Ibarra Abúndez emphasized the importance of the staff's work and their proximity to the community. To enhance this connection, the team distributed magnets featuring a QR code that allows residents to download their bills and provided the WhatsApp number for the sector, making it easier for families to send requests and reports.

This direct communication is crucial for addressing the community's needs effectively. One resident recounted a recent drainage issue that was resolved thanks to the intervention of the Vactor unit, which removed wet wipes and a ball that were blocking the pipes. This case highlighted the impact of improper waste disposal on the sewage system and served as a reminder of the importance of preventing such items from entering the drainage network.

“When we work together, we can solve these problems quickly and efficiently,” the resident noted.

Ongoing Infrastructure Improvements

In addition to enhancing citizen services, Ibarra Abúndez announced that 70 meters of collapsed sewer pipe on Caoba Street had recently been replaced. He pointed out that these infrastructure improvements, along with daily attention from Sector 5, are part of the ongoing efforts in Arboledas. The joint visits allow officials to hear directly from families and address their specific needs.

“These works and our daily attention are essential to ensure a reliable water supply and proper sewage management,” Ibarra Abúndez stated.

The collaboration between the La Paz City Council and OOMSAPAS represents a significant step towards improving public safety and quality of life for residents in Arboledas. By prioritizing community engagement and addressing infrastructure challenges, local authorities are working to create a more responsive and effective municipal service.

The commitment to enhancing citizen services in La Paz is evident, and the positive feedback from residents reflects the success of these initiatives. As the city continues to invest in its infrastructure and community relations, the future looks promising for neighborhoods like Arboledas.
