A Showcase of Talent
The state stage of the 2026 National Popular Games in Baja California Sur has successfully concluded, featuring an impressive participation of 225 athletes, coaches, and technical staff. Organized by the Sudcaliforniano Institute of Sports (INSUDE), this event highlighted the skills and determination of young players in the 6x6 football discipline. The matches took place at the “El Piojillo” football fields, where representatives from all five municipalities competed fiercely.
The competition was divided into two main categories based on age: 2010-2011 and 2012-2014, with both male and female teams vying for the championship titles. The event not only served as a platform for showcasing talent but also played a crucial role in selecting the teams that will represent Baja California Sur at the national level in Veracruz this coming November.
Results and Champions
In the female category for 2010-2011, Los Cabos emerged as the champions, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and skill throughout the tournament. Following closely were Mulegé in second place and La Paz in third. For the younger category of 2012-2014, Los Cabos again claimed the top spot, with Mulegé and La Paz securing second and third places, respectively.
