Specialized Care

A Collaborative Initiative

In a significant effort to enhance the quality of life for children with disabilities, a total of 45 girls, boys, and adolescents received specialized neuropediatric evaluations in Los Cabos. This initiative was organized by the Municipal Institute for the Development and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities of Los Cabos (IMDIS), in collaboration with the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation A.C., which provided the necessary resources for these specialized services.

The director general of IMDIS Los Cabos, Fernando Altamirano Valdez, emphasized the importance of this initiative in providing medical services to families who need ongoing support in the development of their children, particularly in cases related to autism spectrum disorders. He stated,

"This initiative allows us to bring specialized medical services closer to families who require follow-up in the development of their children."

Focus on Well-Being and Integration

The evaluations conducted during this event aim to promote the well-being, autonomy, and integration of children into daily activities. By addressing the specific needs of these young individuals, the program seeks to empower them and their families, ensuring they have access to the necessary support for their development.

Altamirano Valdez also acknowledged the vital role played by the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation A.C. in making this event possible. He expressed gratitude for their support, which was crucial for the successful execution of the evaluations.

"We are thankful for the support from Los Cabos Children’s Foundation A.C., whose backing made this day possible."

Commitment to Continued Support

Additionally, he recognized the efforts of the municipal president, Christian Agúndez Gómez, for his commitment to improving the care and quality of life for individuals with disabilities in the municipality. The collaboration between IMDIS and various institutions and civil organizations is essential to expanding access to specialized services.

Altamirano Valdez reiterated the institute's dedication to strengthening partnerships with other organizations to ensure that children with disabilities receive the necessary care and support.

"We will continue to strengthen collaboration with institutions and civil organizations to expand access to specialized services."

This initiative not only highlights the importance of specialized care but also reflects a growing awareness and commitment within the community to support individuals with disabilities. As Los Cabos continues to develop its resources and programs, the hope is that more children will benefit from such initiatives, ultimately leading to a more inclusive society.

The successful execution of this event serves as a model for future programs aimed at enhancing the lives of children with disabilities, ensuring they receive the attention and care they need to thrive.
