Teletón Campaign

A Call to Action for the Community

The Municipal System for the Integral Development of the Family (SMDIF) in Los Cabos is set to conclude its Teletón fundraising campaign with a special event called the “Teletón Cruise.” This event will take place on Wednesday, September 30, at 5:00 PM in the Mijares Plaza, San José del Cabo. The initiative aims to gather community support to enhance therapy services for children and adolescents with disabilities.

Sol Delgado Moreno, the honorary president of SMDIF Los Cabos, has extended an invitation to the community to participate in this significant event. She emphasized the importance of collective efforts in raising funds to support specialized rehabilitation services provided by the Teletón.

“We encourage families in Los Cabos to join this day and make their voluntary contributions under the slogan ‘Join the Solidarity Movement,’” said Delgado Moreno. “Every donation allows more children and adolescents to access specialized therapies.”

Community Engagement and Support

In the weeks leading up to the cruise, SMDIF personnel and various municipal departments have actively engaged in fundraising activities throughout the municipality. These efforts have included street collections aimed at raising awareness and funds for the Teletón initiative. The campaign has seen significant participation from local residents, showcasing the community's commitment to supporting those in need.

Delgado Moreno highlighted the collaboration with the CRIT Baja California Sur, located in La Paz, which has been instrumental in providing various forms of assistance, including the donation of wheelchairs. These wheelchairs will soon be distributed to individuals registered in the SMDIF Los Cabos disability registry.

“These therapies represent a fundamental support for children and adolescents with disabilities, both from Los Cabos and the rest of the state,” she noted, underscoring the critical nature of the services offered.

The Importance of Specialized Therapies

The Teletón initiative is vital for many families in the region, providing essential therapies that can significantly improve the quality of life for children with disabilities. The funds raised through the campaign will directly support these services, ensuring that children have access to the care they need.

As the community gears up for the cruise, there is a palpable sense of excitement and solidarity among residents. The event not only serves as a fundraising opportunity but also as a platform to raise awareness about the challenges faced by children with disabilities and the importance of community support.

“We are grateful for the support we have received from the community,” Delgado Moreno expressed. “It is through these collective efforts that we can continue to provide essential services to those who need them most.”

The Teletón Cruise is expected to draw a large crowd, with participants encouraged to contribute whatever they can to help make a difference in the lives of local children. This event is a testament to the power of community and the impact of coming together for a common cause.
