Aiming for Economic Autonomy
The Secretary of Tourism and Economy (SETUE) in Baja California Sur is launching a series of free training sessions throughout August, specifically designed to empower women and enhance their economic autonomy. Maribel Collins, the head of SETUE, announced that these workshops will focus on providing essential tools to strengthen women's productive activities and businesses.
As part of the initiative “Stop the Violence,” the first session titled “Women Entrepreneurs and Financial Education” will take place on August 26. This session will include a discussion on women's rights, aimed at improving financial decision-making and the effective use of financial services and products.
“We seek to ensure that more women have the tools to make better financial decisions, strengthen their productive activities, and understand their rights. Bringing these actions directly to the communities allows us to offer opportunities that contribute to their development and well-being,” stated Collins.
Training Locations and Schedule
The training will be held in three different locations across the region. In Ciudad Constitución, Comondú, the session will occur from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the PEC Agricultores Hall. In Loreto, the training is scheduled for 1:30 to 3:00 PM at the Casa de la Cultura. Finally, in Santa Rosalía, Mulegé, the session will take place from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the DIF Mulegé Hall.
Following the initial training, additional workshops will be conducted on August 27 and 28 in Santa Rosalía. These sessions will focus on “Commercial Strategies for Business Growth,” running from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the General Tourism Directorate Office located in Parque Morelos, Centro neighborhood.
“We want to provide practical tools that will allow businesses to improve their competitiveness and foster growth,” Collins added, emphasizing the importance of these workshops for local entrepreneurs.
Encouraging Participation
The SETUE encourages all women entrepreneurs, business owners, and those interested in enhancing their knowledge to participate in these free activities. The training sessions are designed not only to educate but also to inspire women to take charge of their financial futures and business endeavors.
