SEP Kicks Off Distribution of Sports Equipment for School Games

Strengthening School Sports Activities
The Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) in Baja California Sur has officially commenced the distribution of sports equipment for the 2026-2027 School Sports Games. This initiative aims to enhance the sporting activities conducted in basic education institutions across the region. The equipment will be distributed to physical education coordinators, ensuring that schools are well-equipped to promote various sports disciplines among students.
During the launch ceremony, Alicia Meza Osuna, the head of the SEP, emphasized the significance of providing educational communities with the necessary tools for practicing different sports. She stated,
"It is essential to equip our schools with the right resources to encourage the participation of girls, boys, and adolescents in sports activities."
A Comprehensive Package of Sports Equipment
The distribution includes a wide range of sports gear, such as soccer, basketball, and volleyballs; baseballs; discs and shot puts for athletics events; as well as starting blocks for speed competitions. This diverse assortment of equipment is designed to support both the preparation and execution of the upcoming competitions, while also remaining available for everyday activities within the schools.
Carlos Roberto Quintana Orozco, the Director of Physical Education, highlighted the positive impact of this initiative on the sporting environment in schools. He remarked,
"This action contributes to creating better conditions for sports development in schools and encourages student participation as part of their integral education."
Fostering a Culture of Sports in Education
The SEP's commitment to enhancing sports in education reflects a broader trend towards recognizing the importance of physical activity in the holistic development of students. By providing access to quality sports equipment, the SEP is not only facilitating competitive opportunities but also promoting lifelong healthy habits among young individuals.
The School Sports Games serve as a platform for students to showcase their talents, build teamwork skills, and foster a sense of community. As these games approach, the excitement among students and educators alike is palpable, with many looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.
In conclusion, the SEP's initiative to distribute sports equipment is a significant step towards enriching the educational experience in Baja California Sur. By prioritizing sports, the SEP is paving the way for a healthier, more active generation of students who are prepared to excel both in and out of the classroom.
