Description

Enhancing Accessibility for Taxpayers

In an effort to facilitate property tax payments for its citizens, the La Paz City Council is set to introduce additional mobile payment stations. This initiative is part of a broader program aimed at providing discounts to taxpayers, as announced by the municipal treasurer, Jassiel Enríquez Varela. The new mobile stations will be operational this Saturday at various locations, including Mercado Olachea, OOMSAPAS sector #8, and the Comandancia in Diana Laura.

"We invite everyone to take advantage of a 30% discount plus an additional 5% that is available until October 31,"

said Enríquez Varela.

The introduction of these mobile payment stations is designed to make the payment process more convenient for residents, allowing them to settle their property tax obligations without the need to travel to a central office. This initiative is particularly beneficial for those who may find it challenging to access traditional payment locations.

Special Discounts for Early Payments

The municipal treasurer also highlighted that taxpayers with outstanding balances from 2026 and previous years can benefit from significant discounts. Those who pay their dues in a single payment will receive a 20% discount on the total amount owed, along with an additional 50% off any penalties and interest charges.

"These benefits are applicable for payments made in one go, and for those who wish to use participating credit cards, we offer options for 3, 6, and 9 months without interest on amounts over 1,500 pesos,"

he explained.

This financial incentive is aimed at encouraging timely payments and reducing the overall tax burden on residents. The city council believes that these measures will not only increase compliance but also enhance the overall financial health of the municipality.

Extended Hours and Locations for Convenience

To further assist taxpayers, the mobile payment stations will be available at various locations throughout the city during the months of October, November, and December. Specifically, the mobile station in the Subdelegation of El Centenario will be open on Tuesdays, while the station in Chametla will operate on Thursdays, both from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

On Saturday, October 17, residents can access the mobile payment stations located at the Municipal Palace, Mercado Olachea, OOMSAPAS Sector #8 in the El Calandrio neighborhood, and the command center in the Diana Laura neighborhood, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

"The goal of placing mobile stations in various parts of the city is to bring this service closer to taxpayers, speeding up the payment process and facilitating access to the current discounts,"

Enríquez Varela stated.

This initiative reflects the city council's commitment to improving public services and making tax compliance easier for all residents. By strategically placing these mobile payment stations, the council aims to enhance community engagement and ensure that residents can take full advantage of the available discounts and payment options.
