The Instituto Sudcaliforniano de Cultura (ISC), in collaboration with the Secretariat of Public Education and various high school education subsystems, has announced the state-wide competition “Interprepa Nuevos Talentos en el Arte 2026.” This initiative is aimed at high school students from all five municipalities in Baja California Sur. The competition seeks to provide a platform for young artists to express themselves and gain recognition for their talents.

The ISC's General Director, Víctor Hugo Caballero Gutiérrez, emphasized the importance of this initiative in fostering creativity and community identity among students. He stated,

"This initiative aims to provide spaces for the expression and recognition of youth talent, as well as to promote art as a tool to boost creativity, identity, and a sense of community in educational institutions."

Competition Details

The competition will feature two main disciplines: dance and singing, with categories for both solo and group performances. Awards will be distributed by municipality, with specific prizes allocated for each category. In dance, two prizes of 2,500 pesos will be awarded for solo performances, and two prizes of 4,500 pesos for group performances. In singing, the prizes will consist of two awards of 2,000 pesos for soloists and two awards of 4,000 pesos for groups.

Students enrolled in high school institutions across the state are eligible to participate. To enter, they must request a registration form via email at interprepasbcs2026@gmail.com. Once they receive the form, participants are required to fill it out and return it scanned to the same email address, with the support of their respective educational institutions.

Submission Guidelines

All required documentation must be submitted to the ISC no later than October 26, 2026. Additionally, participants will need to deliver the original documents to the event coordination team, which is managed by the Instituto Sudcaliforniano de Cultura, as part of the established requirements.

The complete guidelines for the competition can be found on the ISC's official website: https://isc.cultura-bcs.gob.mx/. This initiative not only highlights the artistic capabilities of the youth in Baja California Sur but also aims to strengthen the cultural fabric of the community through the arts.
