Municipal Qualifiers Kick Off for CONADE National Olympics 2027

Launching the Selection Process
The city of La Paz has officially commenced the formation of its municipal teams for the upcoming CONADE National Olympics 2027. This initiative, spearheaded by the Municipal Sports Directorate, took place over the past weekend, focusing on two key sports: basketball 3x3 and beach volleyball. The event saw a significant turnout, with local sports clubs eagerly participating in the selection process.
Guillermo Ortalejo Hernández, the head of the Municipal Sports Directorate, shared insights about the event, highlighting the impressive participation from local clubs. He stated,
"The calls for participation were well received, with 22 teams competing in basketball 3x3 and 24 teams in beach volleyball, demonstrating a high level of skill and enthusiasm."
Basketball 3x3 Results
In the basketball 3x3 category, the competition was fierce, showcasing the talent of young athletes. The winners were determined across various age groups, reflecting the depth of talent in La Paz. In the U14 boys category, the team Dorados emerged victorious, while Hoops claimed the title in the 15-16 boys category. The 17-18 boys category saw the team Fieroz take home the championship.
For the girls, the U14 category was won by Zopilotas, while Tritones secured victory in the 15-16 category. The 17-18 girls category was dominated by Valkirias, who showcased their skills and teamwork throughout the tournament. Ortalejo Hernández expressed pride in the achievements of these young athletes, emphasizing the importance of such events in fostering sports development in the region.
"These competitions not only highlight the talent of our youth but also encourage healthy competition and camaraderie among teams, which is essential for their growth as athletes."
Beach Volleyball Highlights
The beach volleyball segment also saw exciting matches, with teams competing for the chance to represent La Paz in the state-level competitions. In the Juvenil Menor 16-17 category, the female duo known as Toros and the male pair Lions secured their spots as representatives. In the Juvenil Mayor 18-19 category, Club Península triumphed in the female division, while the male duo from Toros claimed victory.
The Juvenil Superior 20-21 category was particularly noteworthy, as the Toros pairs dominated both the male and female divisions, showcasing their skills and teamwork. Ortalejo Hernández noted the significance of these achievements, stating,
"The success of our teams in beach volleyball reflects the dedication and hard work of our athletes and coaches."
Upcoming Competitions
Looking ahead, the integration process for municipal representatives will continue with additional eliminations scheduled for the upcoming weekend. The next events will feature boxing at Los Mangos Park and soccer at the Municipal Sports Center (CDM) “El Piojillo.” These competitions are expected to attract even more participants and spectators, further enhancing the sports culture in La Paz.
