Rehabilitation Project

Investment for Better Roads

The Government of Baja California Sur, through the State Road Board (JEC), is launching a significant rehabilitation project for isolated sections of the Libramiento Norte in La Paz. This initiative, which starts on Tuesday, October 6, involves an investment of 10 million pesos as part of the Roadways Attention Program. The project aims to enhance the infrastructure and safety of one of the capital's key transit routes.

The director general of the JEC, Jorge Alberto Cota Pérez, detailed the allocation of funds, emphasizing the importance of restoring the existing pavement. The rehabilitation will include treatment and compaction of the hydraulic base, along with the application of hot asphalt pavement.

"These actions are part of the commitment of the current state administration to maintain the road infrastructure in better conditions and provide safer and more durable roadways for the residents of Baja California Sur,"

Cota Pérez stated.

Comprehensive Road Improvements

In addition to the resurfacing efforts, the project will also involve pothole repairs and the application of horizontal signage. The work will extend from the junction with the road to Pichilingue to the intersection with Boulevard Colosio. This comprehensive approach is designed to improve traffic conditions and enhance safety for all users of this vital route.

The JEC has assured that traffic will remain open during the construction phase, albeit with some adjustments. A single lane will be operational, with controlled and alternating traffic flow. Authorities are urging drivers to adhere to speed limits and follow the instructions provided by personnel on-site to ensure safety during the rehabilitation process.

"We encourage all drivers to be cautious and patient as we work to improve this important road,"

Cota Pérez added.

Commitment to Infrastructure Development

This project reflects a broader commitment by the state government to invest in infrastructure development across Baja California Sur. The rehabilitation of Libramiento Norte is not just about immediate repairs; it represents a long-term vision for sustainable road management and safety.

As the state continues to grow, the demand for reliable and safe roadways becomes increasingly critical. The Libramiento Norte serves as a crucial artery for both local residents and visitors, making its rehabilitation a priority for the administration.

The JEC's proactive measures are expected to yield significant benefits, not only in terms of improved road conditions but also in fostering economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of La Paz. The successful completion of this project could serve as a model for future infrastructure initiatives throughout the region.

With the rehabilitation set to commence, residents and travelers alike can look forward to a safer and more efficient transit experience along the Libramiento Norte, reinforcing the state's commitment to maintaining high standards in public safety and infrastructure quality.
