Financial Support for Local Businesses

In a significant boost to the economy of Baja California Sur, over 600 businesses have received financing amounting to 1.232 billion pesos during the current administration. This initiative is a result of the collaboration between the State Government, Nacional Financiera (Nafin), and the National Bank of Foreign Trade (Bancomext), aimed at expanding development opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MiPymes).

The Governor of Baja California Sur, Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío, recently highlighted this achievement during an event where he, alongside Carlos Torres Rosas, the general director of Nafin and Bancomext, and Maribel Collins, the head of the Secretariat of Tourism and Economy (SETUE), presented eight financing packages under the Impulso + BCS Nos Une program to local entrepreneurs.

"Supporting our micro, small, and medium enterprises is strengthening the economy from the ground up. They are the ones who generate jobs, drive commerce, and ensure that the economic flow remains within our communities,"

Castro Cosío stated.

The Importance of MiPymes

The Governor emphasized the vital role that MiPymes play in the local economy, noting their contributions to job creation and the overall commercial activity in the region. He pointed out that these enterprises are essential for maintaining the economic well-being of communities across Baja California Sur.

"That is why we will continue to join efforts so that more entrepreneurs have access to tools that allow them to grow and consolidate,"

he added, reinforcing the administration's commitment to supporting local businesses.

The partnership with Nafin and Bancomext was also acknowledged by Castro Cosío, who recognized that the collaborative efforts help broaden the options available for those who are starting businesses, investing, and creating job opportunities in the area.

Future Collaborations and Economic Growth

As the event concluded, the Governor reiterated the importance of maintaining alliances with the business sector and financial institutions. He assured attendees that these partnerships would facilitate access to resources, enhance the capabilities of MiPymes, and ultimately translate their activities into improved welfare for families in Baja California Sur.

"We will continue to strengthen our alliances to ensure that our local enterprises can thrive and contribute positively to the economy,"

Castro Cosío affirmed, highlighting the ongoing commitment to economic development.

The financial support provided through these initiatives not only aids in the immediate growth of local businesses but also fosters a sustainable economic environment that can withstand future challenges. The administration's focus on empowering MiPymes is a strategic move that aims to create a resilient economy in Baja California Sur, ensuring that the benefits of growth are felt across all communities.
