A New Season of Competition Begins

The City of La Paz has officially announced the opening of registration for teams, clubs, and technical schools interested in participating in the Municipal League for La Paz Fall 2026. The competition is set to commence on October 23, at the Municipal Sports Centers, as stated by Guillermo Ortalejo Hernández, the municipal director of sports.

"This league aims to provide girls, boys, adolescents, and young people with spaces to compete, enhance their skills, and enjoy sports through organized matches according to different ages and levels of participation,"

Ortalejo emphasized.

This initiative is not just about competition; it is also a platform for youth development and community engagement. The league will feature ten categories across male, female, and mixed divisions, encompassing both 9-a-side and 11-a-side football formats. This variety ensures that there is a place for everyone, regardless of age or skill level.

Categories and Age Groups

The league will include several categories tailored to different age groups. In the infant categories, there are four divisions: Infant A for those born in 2020 and younger, Infant B for 2018-2019, Infant C for 2016-2017, and Infant D for those born in 2015. All these categories will compete in mixed teams and 9-a-side football.

For the youth categories, Juvenil A will cater to players born in 2013-2014, while Juvenil B and C will include those born in 2011-2012 and 2009-2010, respectively, both in male divisions and 11-a-side football. Additionally, there will be a University category for players born between 2004 and 2008, and a Libre category for those aged 2013 and older in female divisions.

"We encourage everyone to participate and take advantage of the sports facilities available in La Paz to continue developing local talent and promote a life free from violence and addictions,"

Ortalejo stated.

Informational Meetings and Registration Process

To facilitate the registration process, an informational meeting will be held on Monday, October 5, at 6:00 PM at the Municipal Sports Center (CDM) “El Piojillo.” This meeting will provide potential participants with the necessary information regarding the requirements and process for signing up.

Following this, a meeting on October 19 will outline the match calendar, ensuring that all teams are well-prepared for the upcoming season. This proactive approach aims to foster a sense of community and teamwork among participants.

The Municipal League for La Paz is more than just a sporting event; it represents an opportunity for youth to engage in healthy competition, develop their skills, and build lasting friendships. As the league prepares for its kickoff, the excitement within the community continues to grow, promising a vibrant season ahead.
