Overview of Recovery Operations

Following the passage of Hurricane Polo through Baja California Sur, the La Paz City Council has initiated a comprehensive recovery and supervision operation across various locations in the city and its delegations. Secretary General Jehú Vázquez Savín reported on the city's condition through direct inspections, emphasizing the municipality's preparedness and response efforts.

"Fortunately, Hurricane Polo did not cause any damage in the municipality of La Paz, and the delegations have reported that everything is in order. However, the rains create conditions that require constant attention, which is why our workers have not stopped cleaning the city,"

he stated.

The city has been proactive in addressing the aftermath of the storm, with public services teams deployed to clean and restore affected areas. Vázquez Savín highlighted the importance of ongoing maintenance to ensure public safety and mobility throughout La Paz.

Continuous Efforts in Public Services

The Public Services Department has been working diligently with manual street sweeping, heavy machinery, and tree trimming to address the impacts of water runoff in streets, parks, and various locations throughout the municipality. The city is committed to a thorough recovery process, focusing on each neighborhood and street.

"We will continue, street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood, recovering La Paz together, because the rains pass, but the work continues,"

he reiterated.

This commitment reflects the city's dedication to maintaining a clean and safe environment for its residents. The ongoing efforts are crucial not only for immediate recovery but also for long-term urban resilience against future weather events.

Monitoring Hurricane Rachel

In addition to recovery operations, the La Paz City Council is closely monitoring Hurricane Rachel, which is currently moving parallel to the Mexican Pacific coast. The potential impact of this new weather system raises concerns among local authorities and residents alike.

Vázquez Savín urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any areas needing attention through the La Paz App, particularly streets that may have experienced mobility issues due to the recent rains. This proactive approach aims to ensure that municipal teams can effectively schedule necessary interventions.

"I encourage the community to report any points in the city that require attention so that municipal teams can plan interventions accordingly,"

he concluded.

The collaborative efforts between the city government and its residents are essential in navigating the challenges posed by severe weather conditions. As La Paz continues its recovery from Hurricane Polo, the focus remains on preparedness and community engagement to enhance public safety and resilience against future storms.
