A Unique Opportunity for Young Talent

The Instituto Sudcaliforniano de la Juventud (ISJ) has announced an exciting initiative aimed at young musicians in Baja California Sur. The call is open to individuals aged 12 to 29 to participate in the formation of the region's first Guitar Orchestra. This initiative is spearheaded by Ana Luisa Luévano Gámez, a renowned singer-songwriter, educator, and classical guitar concert artist.

The selection process will be limited to 50 participants who demonstrate the necessary profile, commitment, and willingness to be part of this musical ensemble. Interested individuals can register until September 7, 2026, through the provided link: https://bit.ly/4xlCwZv. This initiative not only aims to create a musical group but also to cultivate a community of young artists eager to enhance their skills.

Fostering Artistic Development

Laura Isabel López Pérez, the General Director of ISJ, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in expanding artistic development opportunities for youth. She stated,

"This collaboration will broaden artistic development options and provide a space to refine musical skills, foster discipline, and participate in a collective experience."

The initiative is designed to create an environment where young musicians can thrive, learn from each other, and grow as artists. The sessions will be held every Monday from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Fábrica de Economía Solidaria of ISJ. Selected participants will also gain free access to master classes with internationally recognized classical guitarists, enriching their learning experience.

Showcasing Local Talent

Ana Luisa Luévano Gámez, the driving force behind this project, expressed her vision for the orchestra. She noted,

"The purpose is to gather individuals with a genuine interest in music, commitment, and a willingness to work as a team, and to showcase the talent that exists in Baja California Sur."

The culmination of this initiative will be a concert and a scenic showcase at the end of the year, where participants will present the results of their hard work and collaboration. This event will not only highlight the skills developed during the project but also celebrate the vibrant musical culture of Baja California Sur.

The formation of the Guitar Orchestra represents a significant step in promoting youth engagement in the arts, providing a platform for young musicians to express themselves and connect with their peers. As the project unfolds, it is expected to inspire a new generation of artists in the region, fostering a sense of community and shared passion for music. The initiative reflects a growing recognition of the importance of arts education and cultural expression in the development of young people.

With the registration process now open, young musicians in Baja California Sur are encouraged to seize this unique opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking musical endeavor that promises to enrich their lives and the cultural landscape of the region.
