In a remarkable achievement, two individuals incarcerated in Baja California Sur have completed their university degrees, a significant milestone in their journey towards social reintegration. The degrees were awarded in Law and Administration, respectively, and were completed through an online program offered by the Universidad del Valle de Santo Domingo. This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance educational opportunities for inmates, ultimately aiming to facilitate their reintegration into society.

Norma Patricia Regalado Herrera, the director of the State Penitentiary System, emphasized the importance of education in the rehabilitation process. She stated,

"Completing a degree represents a significant advancement in terms of reintegration, providing knowledge and tools that can help expand personal and professional development opportunities once freedom is attained."
