ICATEBCS Empowers Los Cabos Community with 39 Official Certificates

Strengthening Skills in Los Cabos
The Institute of Training for Workers of the State of Baja California Sur (ICATEBCS) has made significant strides in enhancing the skills of the local workforce. In a collaborative effort with the Unique Union of Workers of the College of Scientific and Technological Studies of the State of Baja California Sur (SUTCECYTEBCS), the institute awarded 39 certificates with official validity to members of the educational and administrative community in Los Cabos. This initiative is part of the Institutional Development Program titled “An Inclusive, Fraternal, and Solidarity Government.”
During a ceremony held in San José del Cabo, 23 administrative staff members from the CECyTE 07 campus received certificates for completing the course “Human Resources Assistant II.” This course was designed to enhance their knowledge and skills related to institutional management activities. The training aims to equip participants with the necessary tools to improve their professional capabilities.
Expanding Opportunities through Practical Training
In addition to the human resources training, 16 certificates were awarded at the EMSAD 16 Los Barriles campus to both administrative staff and students who completed the “Basic Sushi” workshop. This practical course provided participants with culinary skills that not only contribute to personal development but also open doors for entrepreneurial opportunities in the food industry.
The head of ICATEBCS, Cinthya Fátima Montufas Chávez, emphasized the importance of collaboration with educational institutions and unions. She stated, > “The ongoing training is a fundamental pillar to dignify administrative work and equip youth with useful labor competencies that contribute to the well-being of their families and the integral development of the entity.”
Community Leaders Acknowledge the Impact
The event was attended by key figures in the educational sector, including Edel Noé Mares, the general secretary of SUTCECYTEBCS; Vladimir Torres Navarro, the general director of CECyTE; Diego García, the director of the CECyTE 07 San José del Cabo campus; and Carmen Cota, the coordinator of EMSAD 16 Los Barriles. These leaders witnessed firsthand the culmination of the training processes for the participants, highlighting the collective effort to uplift the community through education.
The collaboration between ICATEBCS and local educational institutions reflects a commitment to fostering a skilled workforce in Baja California Sur. By providing access to valuable training programs, the initiative not only enhances individual capabilities but also contributes to the overall economic development of the region. The focus on practical skills, such as those learned in the sushi workshop, showcases the diverse opportunities available for personal and professional growth.
As Baja California Sur continues to evolve, initiatives like these play a crucial role in preparing the workforce for the challenges ahead. The emphasis on inclusive education and training is vital for ensuring that all members of the community have the chance to succeed and thrive in a competitive job market. The certificates awarded are not just pieces of paper; they represent a pathway to a brighter future for the individuals involved and the community as a whole.
