Governor Supervises Expansion and Modernization of IERT BCS

Investment in Media Infrastructure

With an investment of 15 million pesos, Governor Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío has overseen the expansion and modernization of the State Institute of Radio and Television of Baja California Sur (IERT BCS) in the state capital. This project aims to enhance the facilities and operational areas of the institute, which has been a crucial source of information for the community for over 30 years.

During his visit, Governor Castro acknowledged the significant role that this state media outlet has played in keeping the public informed and evolving its programming and content delivery methods. He emphasized the importance of adapting to the changing landscape of media to better serve the citizens of Baja California Sur.

"The renewal of these spaces represents an act of justice for those who are part of the Institute, providing them with better conditions to carry out their work and maintain a close bond with society,"

said Castro.

A Commitment to Quality

Accompanied by the head of the Institute and IERT collaborators, Castro Cosío highlighted the vision of those who contributed to the establishment of a radio station and later a television channel, creating a platform for information that resonates with the people of Baja California Sur. He noted that the modernization project is not just about infrastructure but also about enhancing the quality of service provided to the community.

The governor committed to completing both the first and second phases of the project before the end of his administration, ensuring that the staff will have dignified and functional spaces to work in. This commitment reflects a broader strategy to improve public services and infrastructure in the region.

he stated.

Project Details and Future Prospects

The modernization project encompasses work on a surface area of 640 square meters, with a construction area of 500 square meters. It includes the development of two forums equipped with audio booths, a storage room, acoustic insulation, lighting, air conditioning, and necessary equipment to enhance broadcasting capabilities.

This initiative is expected to significantly improve the operational efficiency of IERT BCS, allowing for better content production and delivery. The governor's proactive approach to media infrastructure signifies a recognition of the vital role that local media plays in fostering informed communities.
