Governor Castro Applauds President Sheinbaum's Progress for Baja California Sur

Acknowledging Progress in Governance

During the Second Results Report of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, Governor of Baja California Sur, Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío, recognized the significant advancements made by her administration that directly benefit the families in the region. Castro emphasized that the initiatives announced are not only timely but also address the pressing needs of the population, reflecting a national vision aimed at enhancing living conditions for communities across the country.

The governor pointed out that among the key projects in Baja California Sur are the conservation of the federal road network, modernization of the Cabo San Lucas port, and efforts to ensure water supply through the construction of the 'El Novillo' dam and the La Paz water treatment plant, as well as the wastewater treatment plant in Loreto.

Education and Health Initiatives

In the realm of education, Castro highlighted the planned expansions and constructions of educational facilities in Los Cabos, which are essential for accommodating the growing population and enhancing educational opportunities. Additionally, the consolidation of the IMSS Child Education and Care Centers is set to provide better early childhood education and care services.

"Investing in education is investing in our future. The construction of new schools and the expansion of existing ones will ensure that our children have access to quality education."

On the health front, the governor announced the inauguration of the General Hospital in Santa Rosalía, which is expected to significantly improve healthcare access for residents. Furthermore, the construction of the IMSS General Hospital in Los Cabos is ongoing, promising to bolster healthcare services in one of the most visited tourist destinations in the state.

Energy Projects and Future Coordination

In the energy sector, the establishment of the Internal Combustion Power Plant in Los Cabos was unveiled, alongside plans for a solar thermal power plant in the same municipality and a geothermal generation project in Mulegé. These initiatives aim to diversify energy sources and promote sustainable development in Baja California Sur.

"These energy projects are crucial for addressing the energy demands of our growing population while also focusing on sustainability."

Governor Castro Cosío reiterated the importance of maintaining a close working relationship with the federal government to ensure that these initiatives progress and translate into tangible improvements in living conditions for the residents of Baja California Sur.
