Description

Strengthening the Livestock Sector

In a significant move to bolster the local agricultural economy, the XV Ayuntamiento of Los Cabos, led by the Municipal Director of Rural Development, Raúl Montaño Ojeda, has activated a program aimed at providing affordable alfalfa to livestock producers. This initiative is particularly focused on rural communities such as San Felipe and Toro Muerto, where many families rely on livestock for their livelihoods.

The program, which has been in operation since the beginning of the year, aims to reduce the financial burden on farmers by offering subsidized transportation for the forage. This subsidy is crucial as it lowers the overall cost of alfalfa, making it more accessible to those who depend on it for their livestock.

"We are committed to supporting the rural sector and ensuring that our producers have the resources they need to thrive,"

stated Montaño Ojeda.

Impact on Local Producers

On Monday, the latest distribution of alfalfa took place in the sub-delegations of San Felipe and Toro Muerto, directly benefiting families engaged in livestock breeding. The program has already made a significant impact, with 53 shipments delivered to date, averaging 35 producers benefiting from each transport. This translates to over 1,850 producers and their families receiving essential support in various rural communities across the municipality.

The initiative not only aids in sustaining livestock production but also plays a vital role in the overall economic stability of these rural areas. By ensuring that farmers have access to affordable feed, the government is helping to maintain the viability of livestock farming, which is a critical source of income for many families.

"This program is a lifeline for many of our local producers, allowing them to continue their work without the fear of rising costs,"

added Montaño Ojeda.

Commitment to Rural Development

The XV Ayuntamiento of Los Cabos is dedicated to reinforcing its commitment to rural development through various initiatives aimed at reducing production costs and enhancing the livelihoods of local families. The alfalfa subsidy program is just one of many efforts to support the agricultural sector, which is vital for the region's economy.

As the government continues to implement these supportive measures, it aims to create a more sustainable agricultural environment that can withstand economic fluctuations. The ongoing support for livestock producers reflects a broader strategy to ensure food security and promote local agricultural practices.

"Our goal is to create a resilient agricultural sector that can provide for our community and contribute to the local economy,"

concluded Montaño Ojeda.

With these actions, the government of Los Cabos is not only addressing immediate needs but also laying the groundwork for a more prosperous future for its rural communities.
