Strengthening Public Safety

The Governor of Baja California Sur, Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío, recently led a meeting with members of the Real Estate Heritage Committee to discuss and finalize agreements aimed at enhancing public safety and health services in the region. Among the most notable decisions made during this meeting was the approval of a 30-year lease for a property in the municipality of Comondú to the National Guard. This initiative is designed to bolster the security operations in the northern part of the state.

"This agreement is a crucial step towards improving the safety and security of our communities,"

said Governor Castro Cosío during the meeting.

The lease agreement is expected to provide the National Guard with a stable base from which to conduct operations, thereby increasing their effectiveness in addressing security challenges in the area. The decision reflects a growing recognition of the need for enhanced security measures in response to rising concerns about public safety.

Enhancing Health Services

In addition to the security measures, the government has also taken significant steps to improve health services in Baja California Sur. The meeting resulted in the formal donation of a property to the Ministry of Health, which houses the Medical Specialties Unit for Hemodialysis and the Mental Health and Chronic Diseases Medical Unit in La Paz. This move aims to provide legal certainty and secure ownership of these vital medical facilities.

"We are committed to ensuring that our healthcare facilities are well-supported and legally recognized, which is essential for the continuity of care for our residents,"

emphasized the governor.

Furthermore, the government approved the donation of the property currently occupied by the Psychiatric Hospital, located in the El Centenario ejido in La Paz, to IMSS-Bienestar. This decision is part of broader efforts to strengthen public health infrastructure and enhance the provision of specialized mental health services.

Commitment to Ethical Governance

Throughout the discussions, Governor Castro Cosío urged all committee members to act with ethics, honesty, and responsibility in their roles. He emphasized that these qualities are essential for serving the people of Baja California Sur effectively.

"It is our duty to conduct ourselves with integrity and to prioritize the welfare of our citizens in every decision we make,"

he stated.

The agreements reached during this meeting signify a proactive approach by the government to address pressing issues in both public safety and health sectors. By securing long-term commitments with the National Guard and health institutions, the government aims to foster a safer and healthier environment for all residents of Baja California Sur. These initiatives are expected to have a lasting impact on the community, ensuring that essential services are available and effectively managed for years to come.
