Progress in Waste Collection Routes

The La Paz City Council, through its General Directorate of Sustainability and Waste Management, has reported significant progress in the waste collection services across the city. On Tuesday, a total of 147 neighborhoods were serviced, covering sectors 1, 2, and 3. The council is committed to ensuring that all areas receive timely waste collection, with plans to address 11 neighborhoods that remain pending.

"We are dedicated to providing better services to our citizens, and we are working continuously to reinforce our attention and respond to the needs of the population,"

stated a representative from the La Paz City Council.

These 11 neighborhoods, which include Los Olivos, Las Californias, Valle del Mezquite, Chametla, Francisco Villa, El Centenario, and Perlas del Golfo, will either be serviced during nighttime operations or completed on their next scheduled collection day. This proactive approach aims to minimize disruption and ensure that waste is collected efficiently.

Scheduled Collections for Wednesday

Looking ahead, the council has outlined the neighborhoods that will be serviced on Wednesday, August 26. The list includes Agua Escondida, El Cardonal, Jardines del Sur, Calandrio, San Fernando, Indeco, San Pedro, Valle del Mezquite, Solidaridad, Revolución, Santa Rita, 8 de Octubre Primera and Segunda Sección, Vista Real, La Fuente, Mezquitito, Mezquitito Invi, Ampliación Centenario, Flores Magón, FOVISSSTE, Solidaridad Mezquitito, Balandra, El Progreso Vivah, Roma, Márquez de León, Camino Real, Arcoíris, Ayuntamiento, Rodríguez Alcaine, Universidad, Santa María, Bellavista, Pitahaya, Los Pinos, Valle Dorado, La Cima, and Alteza.

This extensive list reflects the council's commitment to covering a wide range of neighborhoods, ensuring that all residents have access to waste management services. The systematic approach to scheduling is designed to enhance operational efficiency and meet the needs of the community.

Community Engagement and Reporting

In addition to the scheduled collections, the La Paz City Council encourages residents to actively participate in the waste management process. Citizens are invited to report any missed collections through the La Paz App by using the button labeled “The garbage did not pass.” This feature allows residents to identify specific areas where service was not rendered, enabling the operational staff to focus their efforts effectively.

"We urge our community to utilize the reporting tools available to them, as this will help us improve our services and ensure that no neighborhood is left behind,"

the representative added.

The initiative not only aims to improve waste collection but also fosters a sense of community responsibility among residents. By engaging citizens in the process, the council hopes to create a more sustainable and efficient waste management system that benefits everyone in La Paz. As the city continues to grow, the importance of effective waste management becomes increasingly critical in maintaining a clean and healthy environment for all residents.
