Launch of the Second Generation

On August 24, the Instituto Sudcaliforniano de las Mujeres (ISMujeres) officially launched the second generation of the School of Strengthening for Women Entrepreneurs (EFME) in Cabo San Lucas. This initiative aims to empower over 50 women through a series of workshops designed to enhance their entrepreneurial skills and economic independence. The opening workshop, titled “Recognition of Economic Autonomy as a Right,” was led by Rosa Alicia García Compeán.

"We are here to create spaces where women can develop their ideas and gain new knowledge to strengthen their projects,"

said Berenice Serrato Flores, the head of ISMujeres.

The EFME program is structured around three key pillars: Leadership and Economic Independence, Entrepreneurship and Economic Formalization, and Promotion and Image. These pillars serve as the foundation for the curriculum, which includes essential tools for business registration, brand creation, and sales strategies through platforms like Instagram and WhatsApp.

Focus on Economic Empowerment

The program's primary objective is to equip participants with the skills necessary to incorporate these insights into their ventures, thereby enhancing their capacity to generate personal income. Serrato Flores emphasized the importance of these workshops in fostering a greater sense of economic autonomy among women in the region.

"Our goal is to ensure that participants can apply what they learn to their projects, strengthening their abilities to create their own income and move towards greater economic autonomy,"

she stated.

The workshops are designed not only to provide theoretical knowledge but also to encourage practical application. Participants will engage in activities that help them identify opportunities, set goals, and develop proposals tailored to their specific business ideas.

Building a Supportive Community

In addition to the educational components, the EFME also aims to cultivate a supportive community among women entrepreneurs. By fostering connections and collaboration, the program seeks to create an environment where women can share experiences, challenges, and successes.

added Serrato Flores.

As the second generation of the EFME begins, the initiative reflects a growing recognition of the vital role women play in the economy.
