A Platform for Expression

The H. XV City Council of Los Cabos, through the Institute of Women, is inviting the community to participate in the pre-selection of the oratory contest titled "Women Who Inspire, Voices That Transform." This event is set to take place on Friday, October 9, at 5:00 PM in the Cerrito del Timbre Gallery of the "Profa. Nieves Trasviña" Cultural Center in Cabo San Lucas. Admission to the event is free, encouraging widespread participation.

The initiative is spearheaded by Adriana Ortega Esquivel, the coordinator of the Institute in Cabo San Lucas, under the guidance of the general director, Araceli García Rico. The primary aim is to create spaces for participation where women can share their ideas, experiences, and perspectives on social realities. This contest is not just about oratory skills; it is about fostering dialogue and reflection on the vital role of women in building a more equitable community.

"This event is an opportunity for women to express themselves and share their stories, which are crucial for our society's growth,"

said Adriana Ortega Esquivel.

The Contest Structure

During the pre-selection phase, participants will present their speeches, showcasing their unique viewpoints and insights. This exercise serves as a platform for diverse voices, allowing for a rich exchange of ideas. The selected participants will advance to the final stage, scheduled for Friday, October 16, at the Audiovisual Classroom of Cobach 04 in Cabo San Lucas.

This pre-selection marks the first public gathering in a process that culminates in the final presentation of the contestants. It is designed to be an inclusive event, inviting anyone interested in supporting women's expression and listening to their narratives.

"We want to highlight the importance of women's participation in our community, and this contest is a step towards that goal,"

emphasized Araceli García Rico.

A Call to the Community

The invitation is open to all who wish to accompany this exercise of expression and listening, where the voices of the participants will take center stage. The event aims to inspire not only the contestants but also the audience, creating a ripple effect of empowerment throughout the community.

The oratory contest is part of a broader initiative to promote gender equality and empower women in Los Cabos. By providing a platform for women to articulate their thoughts and experiences, the Institute of Women is fostering a culture of respect and recognition for women's contributions.

"We believe that every woman's voice matters, and through this contest, we hope to amplify those voices,"

concluded Ortega Esquivel.

As the date approaches, the anticipation builds for what promises to be a transformative event, highlighting the strength and resilience of women in Los Cabos. The community is encouraged to participate, support, and celebrate the inspiring stories that will emerge from this contest.
