Cabo San Lucas Activates Emergency Measures for Hurricane Rachel

Preventive Operations Underway
The XV Ayuntamiento of Los Cabos, led by the Cabo San Lucas delegation under Karina de la O Uribe, has initiated a comprehensive preventive operation in response to Hurricane Rachel. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving authorities from all levels of government to ensure the safety of residents as the storm approaches.
As part of these preventive measures, officials conducted loudspeaker announcements throughout the night in neighborhoods identified as high-risk areas. The aim was to inform the community about safety recommendations and the necessary actions to take as the hurricane nears.
"We are committed to keeping our residents safe and informed during this critical time,"
said Karina de la O Uribe.
Temporary Shelters Established
In a proactive response, two temporary shelters have been set up to accommodate families seeking refuge from the impending storm. These shelters are located at the primary schools Héroes de 1847 in the Lomas del Sol neighborhood and Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz in the Las Palmas area. Both facilities are equipped to provide shelter and assistance to those in need, prioritizing families living in vulnerable zones.
"These shelters will remain open for those who require protection from the hurricane, especially for those in high-risk areas,"
emphasized Uribe.
The delegation urges residents in at-risk locations to heed preventive recommendations and, if necessary, to move to the designated shelters ahead of time. The safety of families is the primary concern, and the community is encouraged to stay informed through official channels and follow the directives from Civil Protection authorities.
Staying Informed and Prepared
As Hurricane Rachel approaches, the Cabo San Lucas delegation is emphasizing the importance of preparedness and awareness. Residents are reminded to monitor updates and alerts issued by local authorities to ensure their safety and that of their loved ones. In case of emergencies, the public is encouraged to utilize the emergency hotline 9-1-1 for immediate assistance.
"We ask our community to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions to protect themselves and their families during this storm,"
stated Uribe.
The collaboration between local authorities and the community is vital in facing the challenges posed by natural disasters. As Hurricane Rachel continues to develop, the Cabo San Lucas delegation remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents. The proactive measures taken, including the establishment of temporary shelters, reflect a commitment to public safety in the face of adversity.
