With the aim of providing local creators with solid business tools, the Artisan Business Professionalization Workshop has been announced in Cabo San Lucas. This initiative, driven by economic development and culture authorities, seeks to help Sudcalifornian artisans move beyond traditional production and adopt contemporary market strategies. The workshop will cover critical topics such as product costing, marketing channels, intellectual property, and the use of digital platforms for global sales. In 2026, the goal is clear: to transform artistic talent into profitable micro-businesses that strengthen the economy of local families.

From an economic development and cultural safeguard perspective, professionalizing the artisan sector is vital to avoiding unfair competition and haggling. By training artisans in managing their own businesses, they are empowered to value their work based on quality and originality standards. In 2026, the program also includes links with the Los Cabos tourism sector, allowing local crafts to have exhibition spaces in luxury hotels and high-traffic shopping centers. This strategy not only preserves ancestral techniques and the identity of Baja California Sur but also integrates them competitively into the destination's tourism value chain.

Registration is completely free of charge. Interested individuals must register through the official portal of the Ministry of Tourism and Economy of the State Government at the following link: http://www.setuesbcs.gob.mx/preregistro.The training sessions will take place on February 24, 25, and 26, 2026, from 08:00 to 12:00, totaling 12 hours of specialized training. The workshop will be held at the Conference Room of the Cabo San Lucas Delegation, located in the Lomas del Faro neighborhood. Capacity is limited to 20 participants to ensure personalized attention. Formalizing their activities will also allow them to access credits and government support in the future. By the end of 2026, this workshop is expected to be the first in a series of traveling training sessions throughout the municipality, consolidating a strong, professional artisan sector proud of its Sudcalifornian roots.
