Baja California Sur Takes a Major Step Towards Digital Governance

A Historic Agreement
In a landmark move, the governor of Baja California Sur, Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío, witnessed the signing of the Letter of Adherence to the National Pact for the Implementation of the National Law to Eliminate Bureaucratic Procedures. This agreement signifies Baja California Sur's incorporation into the National Model of Homologation, aimed at simplifying and digitizing public services and procedures.
During the signing ceremony, Governor Castro Cosío emphasized that Baja California Sur is the first state to subscribe to this agreement with the participation of all five municipalities. He stated that this incorporation will lead to a more efficient and transparent administration, while also strengthening the fight against corruption.

he said.
Embracing Technology Responsibly
The governor also highlighted the importance of responsible use of technology in public service. He noted that while digital tools can enhance efficiency, they must be accompanied by accountability from public officials.
Jessica Pantaleón Becerril, the director of Linking and Coordination for the Northern Zone of the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency of the Mexican Government, elaborated on the significance of the National Model of Homologation. She explained that this model places citizens at the center of governmental processes and promotes coordination among the three levels of government.

Streamlining Bureaucratic Processes
The implementation of this model aims to eliminate unnecessary requirements in 300 state procedures. Additionally, local municipalities will work on simplifying 100 everyday procedures for the population. This ambitious plan is expected to enhance the efficiency of public services and provide clearer guidelines for citizens.
Bertha Montaño Cota, the Secretary of Finance and Administration, emphasized that applying these criteria will help define clear requirements and resolution times, thereby providing greater legal certainty and transparency to those making requests to authorities.

As Baja California Sur embarks on this transformative journey, the focus remains on enhancing public service delivery through innovation and collaboration, setting a precedent for other states to follow in the quest for efficient governance.
