Baja California Sur Shines at the CONADE 2026 National Paralympics
Outstanding Performances in Athletics
The Baja California Sur delegation has made a remarkable impact at the CONADE 2026 National Paralympics, securing three medals during the first day of the second block of parathletics competitions held in Jalisco. This event showcases the talents of young athletes competing in various categories, and Baja California Sur's performance has certainly stood out.
Rosa Keysi Guadalupe Reinecke Valdez led the charge by winning a gold medal in the shot put event, classified as F-20 in the Youth Major category. Her impressive throw of 7.86 meters not only earned her the top spot but also allowed her to outshine competitors from Sinaloa and Querétaro.
"Winning this gold medal means everything to me. It’s a recognition of all the hard work and dedication I’ve put into my training,"
said Reinecke Valdez after her victory.
Silver and Bronze Medals Add to the Glory
In addition to Reinecke Valdez's gold, Gian Geraldo Madrid showcased his speed and agility by clinching a silver medal in the 100 meters sprint, classified as T37 in the Youth Superior category. His performance was a testament to his determination and skill, contributing significantly to the overall medal tally for Baja California Sur.
"I felt the adrenaline rush as I crossed the finish line. This silver medal is a stepping stone for me to aim higher in future competitions,"
Madrid expressed with enthusiasm.
Furthermore, José Miguel Madrid Martínez secured a bronze medal in the javelin throw, classified as F-32 in the Youth Major category. His achievement adds to the growing success of the Baja California Sur team, which now boasts a total of seven medals in the national competition, including two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes.
A Team Effort
The success of Baja California Sur's athletes can be attributed not only to their individual talents but also to the collective effort of the entire team. Other participants in this round included Diego Torres Núñez, María Madero Morales, Ángel Murillo Arámbula, Zazil San Juan Sánchez, Diego Maldonado, and Dania Rosales Muñoz, all of whom contributed to the spirit of competition and camaraderie.
