Description

An Event for Change

On Wednesday, October 7th, at 6:00 PM, Baja California Sur will host the Sixth Great March for Inclusion and Disability. This significant event will commence at Cuauhtémoc Park and conclude at the Kiosco del Malecón in La Paz, featuring an artistic program aimed at raising awareness about the rights of individuals with disabilities.

The initiative is organized by the Instituto Sudcaliforniano para la Inclusión de las Personas con Discapacidad (ISIPD), led by Jorge Alberto Vale Sánchez. He emphasized the importance of this march, stating that it is part of ongoing efforts to promote inclusion and eliminate barriers that individuals with disabilities face in society.

"This activity has been continuously held for the past five years to generate awareness about the rights of people with disabilities and the importance of removing physical, social, and cultural barriers,"

Vale Sánchez noted.

Community Involvement

This year, the march will see participation from 61 organizations and public and private institutions, all united under the Colectivo de Instituciones a Favor de la Inclusión en Baja California Sur. The collective aims to foster a supportive environment for individuals with disabilities, syndromes, disorders, neurodiversity, and autism.

Vale Sánchez extended an invitation to the community, highlighting the significance of collective support. He remarked,

"The collective backing is essential for individuals with disabilities, as it helps to amplify their voices and concerns."

The march not only serves as a platform for advocacy but also as a celebration of diversity and inclusion. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in various artistic performances, showcasing the talents of individuals with disabilities and reinforcing the message of empowerment and acceptance.

The Importance of Awareness

Raising awareness about disabilities is crucial in fostering an inclusive society. The march aims to educate the public on the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and to promote understanding and empathy.

Vale Sánchez emphasized that awareness is the first step towards change, stating,

"We need to educate ourselves and others about the realities of living with a disability. Only then can we work towards a more inclusive society."

As the march approaches, the anticipation within the community grows. Many see it as an opportunity to stand in solidarity with those who often face discrimination and exclusion. The event is expected to draw a large crowd, reflecting the community's commitment to inclusion and support for individuals with disabilities.

In conclusion, the Sixth Great March for Inclusion and Disability is not just an event; it is a movement towards a more inclusive future for all. The community's participation is vital in making a difference and ensuring that the rights of individuals with disabilities are recognized and respected.
